The National Police have recovered more than three tons of copper which was stolen from Escombreras Port in Cartagena. There are six arrests, two Spaniards and four Bolivians, and the 3,140 kilos of copper was found after it had been taken by lorry to a scrap yard in Barcelona. Before it was transported for scrap, the copper was taken to a finca in La Palma, Cartagena, where the plastic surrounding the cables was removed, allowing for a faster reception of the metal later on. One of the gang was chosen to drive the lorry which stopped in an industrial estate in Lorgroño, La Rioja, before taking it on to the scrap yard in Martorell, Barcelona. The owner of the scrap yard has also been arrested, and investigations continu
