A minority of truckers found to be driving high on drugs

 

A report by BBC Radio 5 live Investigates has found that a minority of drivers are resorting to cocaine, amphetamines and ecstasy to help keep themselves awake on long journeys. Drug testing firms say to have 10% of drivers in an haulage firm test positive for drugs is "not unusual". Senior traffic commissioner Beverley Bell said she would meet with leaders of the transport industry to discuss her concerns.
