This comes a few months after Colombian model Juliana Lopez Aguirre was arrested along with her narcotics gang member boyfriend Harold Mauricio Poveda, which came a few months after Venezuelan Miss Universe Alicia Machado was linked to drug kingpin/potential baby daddy Gerardo Alvarez Vazquez and Colombian beauty pageant winner Angie Sanclemente was arrested for managing “young women ferrying cocaine to Europe via Mexico” in Argentina. Sanclemente is married to Mexican drug lord “El Monstruo” (yes, “The Monster”). And the list goes on.
According to the Mexican National Institute of Women, the number of women arrested for trafficking-related charges has increased four-fold in the last three years alone."
