Bankrobbers entered two banks on the city’s industrial estates over the weekend by making holes in the walls of adjoining premises

Bankrobbers entered two banks on the city’s industrial estates over the weekend by making holes in the walls of adjoining premises. One of the robberies took place at the Cajamar bank on the San Luis Industrial Estate, which the robbers entered via an abandoned warehouse some 20 metres away, by making holes in all the walls they came across in their path, crossing four premises in total, some of which opened to the public on Monday with large holes in the walls. The destination of the robbers, which they had obviously mapped out very well, was a small room where they money was kept. The opened the safe with a radial saw and completely emptied it, taking some 60,000 euros. Despite the fact the alarm went off, by the time the police and the bank had been alerted and arrived on the scene, the culprits had disappeared, although there are security camera images which may help to solve the crime. The same thing happened at the Caja Rural de Granada bank on the Guadalhorce Industrial Estate, however, here they were unable to open the safe and left empty-handed. National Police are investigating both cases and believe the robberies were committed by the same gang.
