Calypso La Cala

Calypso La Cala de Mijas last Thursday night saw a total of five local businesses affected by the flames.The cause of the fire is still been investigated , however local residents are convinced that the fire was caused by arson. The fire moved along the terraces of the shops, and also affected the inside of most of the businesses, generally restaurants. Foreign owned Restaurant Rex was most affected by the flames. Fire crews from Mijas, Fuengirola and Marbella attended the blaze.Local residents say it is a common occurrence that containers are set on fire and cars see wing mirrors broken in frequent acts of vandalism in the area.
